The Biden administration and the wind sector are pushing for the 14th extension of the Production Tax Credit (PTC).
While academics, climate activists, and politicians claim that weather-dependent renewables are the cheapest forms of power generation they are fighting to continue to collect hundreds of millions of dollars in tax credits. Between 2020 and 2029, the PTC will cost the federal treasury roughly $34 BILLION. The PTC is the single most-expensive energy-related provision in the federal tax code.
Crawford county, Ohio took a stand this week, making this the 330th time that government entities from Maine to Hawaii have rejected or restricted wind projects since 2015.
